Living Community Festival Mullumbimby
The Living Community Festival falls on Fathers Day this year. What a great way to spend this special day with the family celebrating with community and learning great new skills to teach your children how to live a sustainable life. Recycling, composting, permaculture, worm farming and seed saving are just some of the gardening workshops. You can also learn about different healing modalities in the healing village and eat some great healthy food. There is a section at the bottom of the garden known as Eco Centro and down here the boys make bio char in their closed kilns. There are some excellent speakers on the day to explain why this technique is so important for our soils and how you can make your own. Costa Georgiadis, television presenter from Gardening Australia on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation will be in the Childrens Garden celebrating with the kids and enjoying a gnome theme, including a puppet show, treasure hunt, storytelling and crafty workshops. Spring has started with some lovely rain and our wonderful community festival will gear everyone up for a productive and joyful growing season in our wonderful subtropical climate. This is a celebration of our community and invites all sectors of the community to join together for a day of empowerment and to have some fun learning, chatting, eating, listening to music and laughing.
